TRAFFIC
If you’re signed up for traffic alerts and traffic updates, you can get up-to-date Washington, DC area traffic reports on major accidents, road closures, detours and Metro delays.

VDOT reports that both the inner-loop and outer-loop of 495 has been completely shut down in both directions just past the Van Dorn St. Exit. Due to a tanker truck fire. Closure is between Van Dorn St and Eisenhower Ave.

Virginia Dept of Transportation reports on I-66 (going east bound) all lanes are closed to traffic due to vehicle fire at exit 62.

Two of the lanes on EB I-66 that were closed at exit 62 (VA) are reopened. Other lanes will reopen shortly.

14th Street in northwest DC between Constitution and Pennsylvania Avenues will be closed in both directions Monday, July 27 from 5am to 6pm for a special event. 14th Street Bridge will be open but delays are anticipated. Motorists using the 14th Street Bridge from Virginia should continue on the SE/SW Freeway and take the exit for 12th Street or 7th Street to access Downtown DC. Traffic approaching the closure at 14th Street Northbound and Constitution Ave will be directed to turn right on Constitution Ave and make a left turn on 12th Street NW to get around the closure. Motorists are advised to take alternate routes, leave earlier or later, allow for additional travel time, telecommute or take Metro

Virginia Dept of Transportation reports motor vehicle accident on I-395 going north bound (just before the 14th Street bridge) at exit 10, 2 lanes of traffic is closed and 1 lane is open.

Montgomery County reports: Severe Traffic Alert I-270 Description: I-270N all lanes closed near Rt 80 due to serious accident. Expect significant delays.
